With great pride and happiness I inform you that, on behalf of Indian Association for Social Psychiatry, World Congress of Social Psychiatry was organized from 30th November to 4th December, 2016 at New Delhi. It was attended by around 1075 delegates from 49 countries who had the opportunity to participate in more than 130 academic sessions. The new executive council of IASP was elected and various members and have pledged to carry on the momentous task forward.

I also take pleasure in informing all that the 24th National Conference of Indian Association for Social Psychiatry will be held from 17th to 19th November 2017 at Hotel Radisson Blue, Guwahati. The theme of the conference is “Cultural Diversity and Mental Health”. Along with the presidential address and symposium on the above-mentioned theme, there will be invited lectures by experts, award papers and free papers/posters deliberating upon the wide array of issues in the area of social psychiatry.

If you are interested in presenting in the free paper sessions, you are requested to submit two copies of abstracts for free papers. You are also invited to send proposals for symposia to be presented in the conference. The abstracts for free papers and/or proposals for symposia need to be submitted to the office of Secretary General, IASP latest by 31st August, 2017, through the conference website.

You are also invited to submit nomination/papers for the following awards of IASP:

2. Dr G. C. Boral Award 6. Dr BB Sethi Award
3. Dr N. N. De Oration Award 7. Dr JK Trivedi Award
4. Dr V. K. Varma Award 8. Dr Anil Malhotra Award

Details about the awards are available on the IASP website at www.iasp.org.in. Nominations along with six copies of the nominee’s bio-data should be submitted for the Dr N.N.De Oration Award and Venkoba Rao Oration Award. For the other six awards, four copies of the full paper need to be submitted. The submissions must reach by 31st August 2017 at the address given below. Any submission received, thereafter, will not be entertained.
