NOTICE FOR ELECTION – IASP 2024

To

All the Fellow-Members of the Association

Dear Fellow,

Notice is hereby given soliciting nominations for election of Office-bearers and Council Members of the Indian Association for Social Psychiatry. The positions for which nominations are being solicited are as follows:

1. President-elect (2024-2026) – 1
2. Vice President (2024-2026) – 1
3. Secretary General (2024-2028) – 1
4. Treasurer (2024-2028)- 1
5. Executive council members (2024-2028): 8

Each nomination must be proposed by one and seconded by another eligible voting member and should contain the consent of the nominee in writing.  All nominations should be received by 31^st August 2024 and should be sent to:

The nomination maybe sent by registered post or speed post. The nomination can also be sent by email to [email protected]

At the top of the cover ‘Nomination’ should be written. For the email, subject should be Nomination.

The election schedule is as below:

1. Dispatch of election notification: 15^th July 2024
2. Last date for the receipt of nomination: 31^st August 2024
3. Scrutiny: 10^th September 2024
4. Last date for withdrawal of nomination: 25^th September 2024
5. Dispatch of ballots (if necessary): 1^st October 2024
6. Last date for receipt of ballots: 1^st November 2024

As per the Constitution, only Fellows should hold elected offices and serve on the Executive Council. “Eligible Voting Member” shall mean a Fellow of the Association who has not defaulted his membership rights. All membership rights are forfeited if a member does not pay the yearly dues by 30 June.

NB: As per Article V, Section 1 of the constitution, the Council members other than the office-bearers shall each serve a term of four years and shall not be eligible for re-election immediately after the expiry of the term.
